Technical and Reporting

Our experts are responsible for the detailed and extensive Reports that we issue to our clients to provide a clear interpretation of the analysis results. Our expert team consists of–

Dr Robert Kingston, Laboratory Director

Dr Robert Kingston has over 20 years’ experience of working in analytical chemistry. He has considerable experience of using mass spectroscopy instruments as well as being the Head of Analytical Services and Head of Quality for Bowman Research Limited. He has spent the last 12 years researching and developing methods for the analysis of drugs and alcohol in hair as well as interpreting drug and alcohol testing results for court purposes.

Robert developed the first UKAS accredited method in the UK for the detection of EtG (alcohol metabolite) in hair for his previous employer. He presented his research on the detection of EtG in hair at the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT) meeting in 2009 which was well received amongst the hair testing scientific community. Robert is a member of the SoHT as well as an Expert Witness.

Liam Feasey, Client Services Manager / Reporting Scientist

Liam Feasey has over 16 years’ experience in drug and alcohol testing after gaining BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees in Biology. He started his career in a forensic toxicology laboratory, analysing human biological samples for the detection of drugs and alcohol.

For the past 10 years, Liam has been providing advice and guidance to solicitors, local authorities, judges, barristers and sheriffs. Drawing from his laboratory experience, Liam provides presentations to educate on the most appropriate testing options for the detection of drugs and alcohol in hair.

Liam holds a PgCert in Forensic Science, is a UKAS trained quality management system auditor, a member of the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT) and an Affiliate member of The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (MCSFS).

Donna Cave, Reporting Scientist Manager

Donna Cave has over 14 years’ experience working in forensic testing laboratories in the examination of drugs of abuse, specialising in the examination of hair samples for drug and alcohol markers for over 9 years.

Donna has interpreted toxicological data from a large number of hair cases using knowledge derived from the study of scientific literature and experience derived from casework. Donna has successfully completed training in ‘Courtroom Skills for the Expert Witness’ and has attended Family, Crown and the High Court to provide expert evidence. Donna is also a member of the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT).

Angharad John, Senior Reporting Scientist

Angharad John has experience of working in forensic testing laboratories in the examination of drugs of abuse since 2002, having previously worked for LGC Forensics. Angharad has specialised in the examination of hair samples for drugs and alcohol markers since 2009.

Angharad has interpreted toxicological data from a large number of hair cases using knowledge derived from the study of scientific literature and experience derived from casework, having previously worked for other hair drug and alcohol testing laboratories. Angharad has successfully completed training as an ‘Expert Witness’ and has attended Family, Crown and High court to provide expert evidence. Angharad is also a member of the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT).

Rebecca Williams, Reporting Scientist

Rebecca Williams has over 10 years’ forensic experience gained from her time at the Forensic Science Service and her previous employment at a hair drug and alcohol testing laboratory. As part of her role at the FSS as a Forensic Examiner, Rebecca analysed samples for evidence of controlled drugs using a variety of analytical techniques. In her previous role, Rebecca analysed hair samples for the presence of drugs and alcohol and issued the analysis results detailing the scientific findings.

Rebecca is Bond Solon trained.

Rebecca’s wealth of knowledge and experience is now utilised to interpret and report on drug and alcohol testing results for presentation to court.

Alexander Amiel, Reporting Scientist

Alex has a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Forensic Science and has specialised in the analysis of hair samples for drugs of abuse, metabolites and alcohol markers since April 2010, having previously worked for other hair drug and alcohol testing laboratories.

He has considerable experience in analysing human biological samples and has been interpreting toxicological data from hair cases using knowledge derived from study of the medical/scientific literature and experience derived from casework since 2014.

Alex has attended Family Court to provide evidence and undergone court training. Alex is also a member of the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT).

Emily Rees, Reporting Scientist 

Emily has a Master of Science Degree in Analytical and Forensic Science and a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Forensic Science. The University of South Wales recognise Emily as one of their best graduates due to her achievements in the field since graduating.

She has been working at Lextox since 2014, where she specialises in the examination of hair samples for drugs of abuse, metabolites and alcohol markers.

She has considerable experience in analysing human biological samples and has been interpreting toxicological data from hair cases using knowledge derived from study of the medical/scientific literature and experience derived from casework.

Emily has attended Family Court to provide evidence and undergone court training. Emily is also a member of the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT).

Tyson Thomas, Reporting Scientist

Tyson has a Master of Science Degree in Analytical and Forensic Science and a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Forensic Science.

He has been working at Lextox since 2016, where he has specialised in the examination of hair samples for drugs of abuse, metabolites and alcohol markers and the interpretation of these results. He has also worked on a number of hair cases using knowledge derived from the study of the medical/scientific literature and experience derived from casework.

Tyson has undertaken court training with Bond Solon and is currently a member of the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT) and an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).

Scott Phillips, Reporting Scientist

Scott has a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Forensic Science.

He has been working at Lextox since 2014, where he specialises in the examination of hair samples for drugs of abuse, metabolites and alcohol markers.
He has considerable experience in analysing human biological samples and has been interpreting toxicological data from hair cases using knowledge derived from study of the medical/scientific literature and experience derived from casework.

Scott has undertaken court training with Bond Solon and is currently a member of the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT).

Kirsty Hillitt, Reporting Scientist

Kirsty has a Bachelor of Science with Honours Degree in Biomedical Science. In early 2017 Kirsty had a scientific research paper published.

She has been working for Lextox since October 2016, where she specialises in the examination of hair samples for drugs of abuse, metabolites and alcohol markers, and the interpretation of these results. She has worked on a number of hair cases and has been interpreting toxicological data from hair cases using knowledge derived from the study of the medical/scientific literature and experience derived from casework.

Kirsty has undertaken courtroom skills training as an expert witness with Bond Solon and is also a member of the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT).
