Finance

Finance Assistant

Forming part of the SYNLAB Group, Lextox are a UKAS accredited laboratory based in Cardiff. Lextox provide drug, alcohol and DNA testing services for family law cases and childcare proceedings. SYNLAB in the UK is a trusted expert in clinical laboratory and medical diagnostic services.

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our fast paced and friendly Finance team in Cardiff, on a full time and permanent basis. Ideally you will have a background in Finance but there will be an opportunity for training and development in this role.

Hours: 35hrs a week, Monday – Friday.

We work on an 8 week rota, including 10am-6pm / 7am-3pm / 8am-4pm / 9am-5pm shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all split invoicing is kept up to date.
  • Create accounts for new customers following the company referencing requirements.
  • Deal with invoice queries in an effective and timely manner.
  • To ensure that purchase invoices are coded and posted onto the purchase ledger in a timely manner and with a high level of accuracy.
  • To ensure that all invoices received are authorised by relevant department managers prior to posting onto Sage.
  • To ensure that results are sent to customers accurately and in a timely manner.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to GCSE level or above (including English & Maths – Grade C)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a number of tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work flexibly on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Computer literate and able to work with IT software packages.

Desirable:

  • Experience of using SAGE accounts package.
  • Experience of working in a busy office.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

Laboratory

Laboratory Analyst

Forming part of the SYNLAB Group, Lextox are a UKAS accredited laboratory based in Cardiff. Lextox provide drug, alcohol and DNA testing services for family law cases and childcare proceedings. SYNLAB in the UK is a trusted expert in clinical laboratory and medical diagnostic services.

We have a vacancy for a Laboratory Analyst to join our Laboratory team in Cardiff, on a full time and permanent basis. Applicants are expected to have ISO17025 knowledge and hold previous laboratory experience.

Hours: 35hrs a week, Monday – Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Sectioning hair samples as they arrive at the direction of Laboratory Management, following Lextox SOPs and completing appropriate laboratory forms.
  • Ensure that Lextox Standard Operating Procedures are followed at all times and that corresponding paperwork is neatly completed to the standard required.
  • Responsible for keeping the sample status folder up to date.
  • Respect the confidentiality of the information obtained in the course of analysing samples within the lab, and refrain from disclosing such information without written consent, except where disclosure is required by law or by a court order.
  • Communicate efficiently, courteously and with clarity at all times, whether face to face, telephone or electronic methods referring enquiries to senior staff where appropriate.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified at a Degree level – Biomedical Sciences or a relevant Science degree.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A strong focus on service and quality with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Laboratory experience.

Laboratory Technician

Lextox is a UK based forensic toxicology laboratory with a team of experts who have outstanding knowledge and experience of analysing biological samples for our client’s benefit.

Based in the Grade Two listed Maltings building in Cardiff, our forensic toxicology laboratory provides a fast, efficient and reliable drug and alcohol testing service.

Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for 4 Laboratory Technicians to join our Laboratory team in Cardiff, on a full time and permanent basis. Duties include completing general laboratory duties without supervision and to the required standard following SOP and working to ISO17025 guidelines.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for making up solutions
  • Responsible for SCRAM bracelet cleaning
  • Responsible for the daily min/max temperature measurement of the fridges and freezers and ensuring that the balances are checked on a daily basis according to Lextox Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and corresponding forms are completed
  • Responsible for the weekly pipette calibration checks and monthly min/max pipette calibration check according to Lextox SOPs and corresponding forms are completed
  • Ensuring Lab glassware is clean
  • General laboratory housekeeping

Essential:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Superb communicators both written and verbally
  • A strong focus on service and quality with an eye for detail and accuracy

Desirable:

  • Relevant GCSE qualification
  • Previous Laboratory experience.

Collection Technician (Stevenage)

We have a full-time and permanent vacancy for a Sample Collector/Collections Technician to join our Sample Collections team in Stevenage and the surrounding areas. Candidates must be professionally qualified Phlebotomists, have recent experience in various venepuncture techniques (vacutainer, butterfly etc) and be able to collect samples in non-clinical settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Attending pre booked appointments at various locations in and around the Stevenage area.
  • Provide a professional hair, blood and DNA sample collection service.
  • Maintain and develop excellent relationships with clients, donors as the public face of Lextox.
  • Implement the requirements of the company Quality management System and help maintain ISO17025 accreditation.
  • Ensure that all collections are undertaken in a safe, healthy and low risk environment and manner.
  • Provide statements of truth at point of collection.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal and language skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Phlebotomy, post qualification.

Desirable:

  • Experience in working within the NHS.

Assignments will generally be within a 2-hour radius of a collector’s home address by car. Access to your own vehicle is essential. Successful applicants will be paid on a per collection basis only, plus appropriate travel expenses will be paid, including fuel, parking fees and sample postage. Collections assignments will generally be at either a solicitor’s office, local authority office or donor’s home; appropriate PPE will be provided. A DBS check will an essential requirement for this role.

We are currently seeking a Client Manager to join our existing Sales team in Cardiff. You will be responsible for meeting clients’ requirements and proactively managing client relationships to enable company growth.

Responsibilities:

  • To contribute and grow sales in a designated territory vs target to support wider Sales team delivery and company growth
  • To build and maintain client relationships
  • To work collaboratively with all operational departments
  • To actively work towards improving quality and client experience at all times
