Lextox Promotes Awareness on Hair Testing

13th February 2019 – CARDIFF, U.K. – Lextox Drug & Alcohol Testing (Lextox) has announced that it will continue to increase awareness and knowledge of hair testing, by once again offering free CPD seminars to barristers’ chambers and family law professionals in 2019.

In late 2017 The Honorable Mr Justice Peter Jackson highlighted the importance of increased awareness on hair testing, for all participants in the system*. This was following a child custody case in which Lextox was invited to intervene and provide evidence.

In response to this, last year Lextox delivered over 20 CPD seminars across the United Kingdom to barrister’s chambers, family law solicitors and local authorities.

Delivered by Client Services Manager and Reporting Scientist, Liam Feasey, the seminars on ‘Determining Parental Substance Use’ cover the benefits and limitations of hair drug testing and its use in family law, best practice in hair alcohol testing and its appropriateness for court, along with reporting of results.

Feedback from 2018 participants was very positive, with one Chamber describing the CPD seminar as “extremely informative and well presented in a way which was clear and easy to understand.”

Delivered at the barrister’s chambers or client’s offices, seminars can be used as part of CPD learning activities.
